Crimson and Silver Christmas 🔔🎄

🎄  Episode 2: The Day the Crimson Princess Arrived
(From Lilith’s Perspective)

My Christmases were always quiet.

My father was the King of the Demon Realm.
He was terribly busy, and by the time I turned six,
we rarely spent time together anymore.

A few days before Christmas—

My father suddenly said this to me.

Lilith’s Father
Lilith. You may soon have a little sister.

At first, I could hardly believe my ears.

Lilith
…A little sister…?

Lilith’s Father
Yes. I had not told you before, but you have a sister who shares your blood.
She does not share mine, but she is bound to you by blood.
Her name is Mira—your true sister.

He continued calmly.

Lilith’s Father
I have known her father for many years.
He is the scientist who first succeeded in creating the Mega Potion—
a name now known across the entire world.

He wished to remain out of the spotlight,
so he continued his research in secrecy.
But now that his work is complete,
the nobles will no longer leave him alone.

If the existence of his daughter were discovered,
there is no telling what might happen to Mira.
That is why he entrusted her to me.

I wished to protect her myself,
but interference could cause a rift between the Demon Realm and the Spirit Realm.
So my hands are tied.

Then he looked at me and asked quietly—

Lilith’s Father
If you were to live together with your sister,
do you think you could get along with her?

Lilith
Of course! When will she come?!

Lilith’s Father
I do not know when.”

My father was always busy,
and more often than not,
I played alone in a castle far too large for one child.

That was why—

The moment I heard those words,
surprise and joy flooded my heart all at once.

Lilith (thinking)
I have a younger sister…!
Our family is growing!

From that day on,
my chest felt warm,
as if it were gently glowing from within.

The next day,
while Mira quietly waited for her father to return,
reading a picture book all by herself—

far away,
in a castle within the Demon Realm,
a single young girl was rushing about restlessly.

There was only one reason.

A sister might be coming.
That was what my father had told me the night before.

Lilith:
Father! What should we have for Christmas dinner?
Should we add a few more decorations to the tree?

Lilith’s Father:
…Lilith. Calm down.

His voice was gentle,
yet there was a note of caution beneath it.

Lilith’s Father:
I told you yesterday… nothing has been decided yet.

Lilith:
So… she might come today,
or she might not?

Lilith’s Father:
That is correct.

I hugged the ribbon in my arms
and pouted slightly.

Lilith:
Whether she comes or not,
we can still have a Christmas party together!

Lilith’s Father:
Lilith…

Lilith:
I want to go meet my sister today!
I want us to get along!

Lilith’s Father:
…Very well.

He smiled then—
a smile that seemed somehow lonely.

But to my young self,
I did not understand why.

Evening

As evening fell,
my father went out somewhere.

When he returned a short while later,
he spoke with a stern expression.

Lilith’s Father:
Mira’s father… will not be able to return.
Lilith, we must leave at once.

My chest tightened,
caught between the joy of meeting my sister
and the reality that her father would not come back.

I did not understand the full circumstances.

Yet the weight in my father’s voice
told me everything I needed to know.

Lilith (thinking):
…Mira is waiting all alone.

My chest ached,
and I clenched my fists.

Lilith (thinking):
I have to be strong…
From today on, I am her older sister!

Mira’s House

Night.

A small house,
quietly wrapped in falling snow.

When my father knocked on the door,
the sound of small footsteps hurried closer.

The door opened.

Standing there was—

A girl with long silver hair, softly glowing in the moonlight.
Eyes of clear, icy blue, like frozen crystal.

Lilith (thought):
(…Is this girl… Mira?)

Her eyes trembled, as if tears might spill at any moment.

I caught my breath without meaning to.

And so, before I could stop myself, I blurted out—

Lilith:
“Merry Christmas!
This is a present from me!”

Mira flinched, her shoulders jumping in surprise,
but she still accepted the small package with her tiny hands.

Behind her, my father spoke quietly.

Lilith’s Father:
“…Lilith. That gift is not from you.”

Mira’s fingers froze.

Lilith’s Father:
“…I’m sorry for coming so suddenly.
I didn’t mean to frighten you.
Your father asked me to come.”

That was all he said.

He fell silent after that.
And Mira—she didn’t ask anything further either.

It wasn’t my father’s face that frightened her.

I could tell—
it was the fear of what she might learn if she asked.

The Present

Mira slowly opened the wrapping.

Inside was a single book—
an adventure tale.

The moment she gently turned the first page,
her small nose twitched.

And then—

just a little,
her expression softened.

My chest tightened,
and before I realized it, I reached out.

Lilith:
“Mira, come with me.
From today on, you are my little sister!”

Mira looked up at me in surprise.

Then—
she nodded, just once.

My heart filled with joy.

Teleportation

Lilith’s Father:
“Then we shall depart.
Is there anything you wish to bring with you?”

Mira:
“Just this.”

Mira hugged the book tightly to her chest.

Seeing that, my father nodded quietly
and lightly swept his arm through the air.

A magic crest appeared beneath our feet,
and a pale light enveloped us all.

Lilith (thought):
(Father’s teleportation magic.)

The next moment—

we were standing in a familiar castle corridor.

Cold stone flooring.
A high, silent ceiling.

Mira’s eyes widened in surprise,
then she stood still, saying nothing.

Her profile looked
somehow lonely.

I couldn’t leave her like that—

So gently,
I held out my hand.
